Davidoff Embraces the Year of the Sheep with Three Limited-Edition Figurados
While several cigar makers are introducing 2027 releases under the Year of the Goat name, Davidoff is taking a different approach. Its latest Chinese zodiac collection is officially the Year of the Sheep—a name reflected in the curved figurado cigars, wool-inspired packaging and carefully curated accessories.
The distinction is a matter of translation, not a different zodiac year. The Chinese character yáng can describe sheep or goats. Davidoff has selected the sheep interpretation and developed an entire collection around it.
Three figurados, one shared blend

For the first time in Davidoff’s annual zodiac releases, all three cigar formats are figurados. The shapes are intended to evoke the curve of a sheep’s horn. The cigars share a blend described by Davidoff as combining an Ecuadorian wrapper with Dominican tobaccos and Nicaraguan tobaccos, the latter adding body and depth. The company describes cream, dark chocolate and caramel in the smoking progression. Those are Davidoff’s tasting notes, not a Broward Cigar Board review.
The Year of the Sheep Piramides

The primary Limited Edition is a 6¾-inch by 52-ring-gauge Piramides, rated at three out of five for intensity. Davidoff says its master rollers have at least 15 years of experience and shape each cigar to maintain consistent filler distribution through the tapered format.
Production is limited to 17,500 ten-count boxes worldwide. The packaging combines dark solid wood with a red outer box, purple detailing and wool-like lining. A removable cover reveals the cigars, while each cigar wears a purple-accented secondary band. The collection also includes a numbered collector’s coin and a wooden coin-collector box offered as a gift with purchase.
A flagship-only Gran Perfecto
The second format is a 6-inch by 61-ring-gauge Gran Perfecto, exclusive to Davidoff of Geneva since 1911 flagship stores. It shares the Piramides blend but uses its different shape to change how the wrapper, binder and filler reveal themselves during the smoke. Davidoff lists its intensity at three out of five.
The flagship release arrives in boxes of 24, each with its own numbered collector’s coin. Only 850 boxes are planned worldwide.
Twelve Masterpiece Humidors, each with 88 Gran Torpedos

The collection’s centerpiece is a handcrafted Year of the Sheep Masterpiece Humidor, limited to just 12 numbered pieces worldwide. Chinese illustrator Jane Liu created artwork featuring purple, clouds and the sun. French textile artist Clémentine Brandibas translated the design into intricate silk-satin embroidery using specialized goldwork and stitching techniques. According to Davidoff, each piece requires more than 100 hours of textile work.
Each humidor contains 88 exclusive 6-inch by 56-ring-gauge Gran Torpedo cigars, made with the collection’s shared blend. Four Davidoff Slim Regulators are designed to maintain humidity between 70 and 72 percent. The number 88 also carries auspicious associations in Chinese culture.
An ashtray and cutter to accompany the cigars

Davidoff rounds out the release with two individually sold accessories. A porcelain ashtray made in Limoges, France, has sculpted horn-like edges, gold detailing and two cigar rests; the edition is limited to 288 numbered pieces. A glossy gold double-blade cutter, made in Germany from stainless steel, includes a red leather pouch, accommodates ring gauges up to 60 and is limited to 388 numbered pieces.
Release date and availability
Davidoff says the Year of the Sheep Limited Edition cigars and accessories are scheduled to become available beginning November 19, 2026, through select appointed merchants and flagship stores. Dates and availability may vary by country. The supplied announcement does not provide suggested retail prices.
Whether aficionados call 2027 the Year of the Goat or the Year of the Sheep, Davidoff has chosen a cohesive visual identity for its interpretation of the zodiac tradition. The defining feature here is not just the name: it is the unusual decision to make all three cigar formats figurados, culminating in a twelve-piece collector’s humidor.
