StillWell Star Update — Major Revamp Coming from Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust
Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust has confirmed that the StillWell Star cigar line is undergoing a significant revamp, according to an update posted by Steve Saka on Facebook. This marks a turning point for one of the more unique projects in the DTT portfolio — a series originally designed to bridge the cigar and pipe tobacco worlds.

StillWell Star has been notable for its innovative approach: rather than blending only traditional cigar tobaccos, it incorporates premium pipe tobaccos sourced in collaboration with Cornell & Diehl’s Jeremy Reeves. The idea was to create a “luxury pipe tobacco cigar” that would appeal to both seasoned cigar smokers and pipe enthusiasts alike, with original expressions that included cigar filler laced with varieties such as Black Cavendish, Virginia, Burley, Latakia, and more.
What’s Changing
According to Saka’s social media post, the StillWell Star line is being retooled in preparation for its next chapter. The only liga from the original lineup that will continue forward in the revamped series is Aromatic No. 1, but with a simplified naming convention. The Aromatic No. 1 will now be known as:
- Aromatic Dulce Maduro Toro
A smaller sibling expression will also be introduced, titled:
- Aromatic Dulce Maduro Petit Robusto
There are two additional ligas within the revamp that will also share those same sizes, but details on those blends were not part of the initial update and will be released at a later date.
Final Stock Notice
Before the revamp arrives — expected to be showcased at the Premium Cigar Association (PCA) 2026 Trade Show — Saka wanted to give enthusiasts a clear heads-up about the current stock of StillWell Star cigars. As production ceases on the existing ligas to make room for the new offerings, what remains in the market will likely be all that is ever available of these versions.
Here is the current status of the original StillWell Star lineup:
- StillWell Star Aromatic No. 1 — Sold Out
- StillWell Star Aromatic No. 22 — Under 100 Boxes Remaining
- StillWell Star English No. 27 — Sold Out
- StillWell Star Bayou No. 32 — 5 Boxes Remaining
- StillWell Star Navy No. 1056 — Sold Out
- Holiday (All Years) — Sold Out
Saka emphasized that this inventory reflects what the shop currently has on hand — nothing more is being produced, and what is “out in the wild” is essentially the final supply.

Why This Matters
StillWell Star has been one of the more distinct lineups in recent years, not just within Dunbarton’s portfolio, but within the broader premium cigar landscape. Instead of relying solely on traditional cigar leaf profiles, the series blended pipe tobacco varietals with high-grade cigar tobaccos under Ecuador Habano wrappers and Mexican San Andrés binders — a concept that garnered attention for its creativity and depth.
The revamp suggests that Saka and DTT are aiming to refine what StillWell Star stands for, likely bringing a new era of blends to market that will debut later in the spring, with more information expected in late March.
For anyone who has enjoyed StillWell Star’s original expressions — whether for their balance, aromatic qualities, or sheer novelty — now is the time to track down what remains.
Stay tuned for more details on the revamped series as they are released ahead of PCA 2026.
