Tatuaje Begins Shipping ES2026 Tuxtla Exclusive Series Release

Tatuaje Cigars has begun shipping its latest limited release, the Exclusive Series ES2026 Tuxtla, to select retailers. The cigar is part of the brand’s long-running Exclusive Series program and is positioned as a companion to its 2025 PCA release—this time featuring a Mexican San Andrés wrapper.

Background / Context

Tatuaje’s Exclusive Series, launched in 2011, has been used for limited releases tied to key retail partners, as well as organizations like the Premium Cigar Association (PCA) and Tobacconists’ Association of America (TAA).

The ES2026 Tuxtla builds directly on the blend used for the 2025 PCA Corojo Exclusive, offering a variation that shifts the profile through wrapper selection rather than changing the core blend.

Blend Details

The ES2026 Tuxtla uses an all-Nicaraguan binder and filler combination, finished with a high-priming Mexican San Andrés wrapper, referred to by Tatuaje as “Tuxtla,” referencing the region where the tobacco is grown.

  • Wrapper: Mexican San Andrés (Tuxtla)
  • Binder: Nicaragua
  • Filler: Nicaragua

The result is described as a medium-to-full-bodied profile, with the San Andrés wrapper adding depth and richness while maintaining balance.

Sizes / Pricing / Production

  • Vitola: 5 5/8 x 54 (soft box-pressed, covered foot)
  • Packaging: 20-count cabinet boxes
  • MSRP: $15.00 per cigar
  • Total Production: 2,000 boxes (40,000 cigars)

Release Info

The ES2026 Tuxtla began shipping to select retailers last week and is expected to be available on shelves in the coming days.

Distribution is limited, consistent with the Exclusive Series format.

Why It Matters

Rather than introducing an entirely new blend, Tatuaje continues to lean into a more nuanced approach—using wrapper variation to reinterpret an existing profile.

The use of San Andrés in place of Corojo shifts the cigar toward a darker, more robust flavor profile, offering a different experience while maintaining familiarity for those who smoked the 2025 PCA release.

For retailers, this type of release provides a clear comparison point, making it easier to position and sell. For consumers, it’s another example of how subtle changes—particularly in wrapper—can significantly influence the smoking experience.
