Selected Tobacco is commemorating Byron’s 175th anniversary with the Byron 175 Tribute Set, an extremely limited collector’s presentation that brings four distinct Byron expressions together in one package. The set is scheduled to ship in August 2026 and will retail for $205.

Presented as a celebration of Byron’s history and Selected Tobacco’s approach to luxury cigar aging, the collection pairs four cosmetic-grade aluminum tubes with a display box finished in Byron’s signature navy-and-gold style. Once allocations are gone, no additional production is planned.

Four Expressions, One Historic Collection

The Byron 175 Tribute Set includes four different cigars, each representing a separate expression in the brand’s evolution:

ExpressionSize
Byron 19th Century Grand Poemas6 x 56
Byron 20th Century Habaneros6 x 54
Byron 21st Century Elegantes6 1/8 x 55
Byron 1850 No. 36 x 52

Every cigar is presented in its own precision-machined aluminum tube. The packaging is designed to protect the cigars while giving the set the kind of presentation expected from a luxury collector’s release.

A Minimum of Four Years of Post-Roll Aging

The cigars in the Tribute Set have each undergone a minimum of four years of post-roll aging using Selected Tobacco’s proprietary maturation process. The method uses carefully controlled humidity cycles and multiple cedar varietals to gradually refine the cigars over time.

The result is intended to be more than simple storage. Selected Tobacco’s process is designed to guide each cigar toward its intended character while preserving the individual personality of the four blends.

A Common Foundation Across Four Blends

Although each expression is distinct, the cigars share a common production foundation. All four are rolled in Costa Rica with an Ecuadorian wrapper surrounding carefully selected Dominican, Peruvian, and Nicaraguan tobaccos.

The Tribute Set's four-tube presentation is designed for collectors as much as for the cigars themselves.

That shared structure keeps the collection recognizably Byron while allowing the Grand Poemas, Habaneros, Elegantes, and 1850 No. 3 to offer different expressions of the brand’s house style.

Byron’s Legacy and the Alfonso Family

The Byron name traces its documented roots to references in California newspapers during the early 1850s, when the brand was already associated with cigar connoisseurs. The Alfonso family has since carried that heritage forward while developing Selected Tobacco’s modern approach to aging and luxury cigar production.

“Byron has always represented respect for history,” said Nelson Alfonso. “We continue the journey with patience. Every cigar teaches us that time is the greatest ingredient, and this collection is our humble tribute to those who appreciated Byron before us and to those who will enjoy it for generations to come.”

The Tribute Set is built around that same idea: history is part of the product, but time and craftsmanship are what make the collection meaningful to collectors.

Limited Availability and Pricing

The Byron 175 Tribute Set will be available only through appointed Byron merchants. Production is strictly limited, and the press release states that no additional sets are planned once the initial allocation is gone.

  • Shipping: August 2026
  • MSRP: $205 per set
  • Availability: Appointed Byron merchants
  • Packaging: Collector’s display box with four aluminum tubes
  • Production: Strictly limited; no additional production planned
The Tribute Set's four-tube presentation is designed for collectors as much as for the cigars themselves.

The Bottom Line

The Byron 175 Tribute Set is a commemorative release with a clear purpose: to bring four important Byron expressions together while showcasing the patience and presentation that define Selected Tobacco’s luxury portfolio.

For Byron collectors, the appeal is the combination of variety, aging, and limited availability. For smokers discovering the brand, the set offers a concise way to experience four different points in Byron’s history in one $205 presentation. Once the appointed-merchant allocation is gone, this particular collection is not expected to return.
