Tatuaje Boris Karloff Returns for 2026 in a New 6¼ × 47 Format
LIMITED RELEASES / 2026
Drawing on its 2020 Karloff blend, Tatuaje changes the cigar’s size again in a limited release honoring the actor’s many roles.
Not every return needs to look the same. Tatuaje is bringing its Boris Karloff limited release back for 2026, once again changing the cigar’s dimensions to reflect the screen legend’s ability to transform himself from one role to the next.
The new edition is based on the Karloff blend from 2020. This time, Tatuaje has selected a 6¼-inch by 47-ring-gauge format finished with an Ecuador Sumatra wrapper. It will arrive in 20-count boxes with a suggested retail price of $15 per cigar.

Why the Size Keeps Changing
Boris Karloff is best remembered by many viewers for Frankenstein’s monster and The Mummy, but his acting career spanned roughly 50 years and a wide range of characters. Tatuaje has made that versatility part of the concept behind this cigar: rather than reissuing the same size each time, the company changes the vitola with each limited run.
For collectors and returning smokers, that makes the 2026 release another distinct chapter in a series built around reinvention. Tatuaje describes the blend as based on the 2020 Karloff cigar; it has not provided additional binder or filler details in this announcement.

The 2026 Release

- Wrapper: Ecuador Sumatra
- Production: My Father Cigars, Estelí
- Packaging: 20-count boxes
- Suggested retail price: $15 per cigar
- Production run: 2,000 boxes
Production is limited to 2,000 boxes of 20 cigars, or 40,000 cigars in total. The cigars were made at My Father Cigars in Estelí.

Shipments and the Karloff Connection
Tatuaje says shipments to select retailers are beginning during the week of its announcement, ahead of Boris Karloff’s birthday on November 23. The company did not identify participating retailers or provide exact store-arrival dates.
The Boris Karloff name and likeness are licensed by Karloff Enterprises / Sara Karloff, according to Tatuaje.
The BCB Perspective
The changing vitola is what makes this release more than a repeat of familiar packaging. Tatuaje has kept the Karloff connection in place while allowing the cigar’s format to evolve—a fitting editorial tribute to an actor whose career was defined by transformation.
