Rocky Patel Debuts Sapphire at PCA 2026 — Aged Nicaraguan Leaf Meets Honduras-Grown Binder

Rocky Patel Premium Cigars is heading into the 2026 PCA Convention & Trade Show with one of its most anticipated new releases in recent memory. The Rocky Patel Sapphire is set to make its public debut in New Orleans on April 18–20, with retail shipments following shortly after — and the blend details make a strong case for why it belongs on your radar.

A Blend Built Around Aged Leaf

The Sapphire is anchored by fillers from the Condega, Estelí, and Jalapa regions of Nicaragua, with most of the leaf grown on Rocky Patel’s own farms. What sets this blend apart is the age on those fillers — six to seven years — giving the tobacco ample time to develop before it ever reaches the rolling table. The result, according to Rocky Patel, is a medium-to-full-bodied smoke with a refined, measured profile.

The wrapper is a Mexican San Andrés leaf, providing the rich, earthy backbone the varietal is known for. The binder configuration is where the Sapphire takes an interesting turn: it uses two binders simultaneously — one from Estelí, Nicaragua, and a second from the Jamastran Valley of Honduras. The Honduran binder marks the first time Rocky Patel has incorporated tobacco grown on its own farm in Honduras into a production blend, a milestone worth noting for followers of the brand’s ongoing agricultural expansion.

All four vitolas are made at Tabacalera Villa Cuba S.A. in Estelí.

Sizes and Pricing

The Sapphire launches in four sizes, all packaged in 20-count boxes:

VitolaSizeMSRP Per CigarBox Price
Corona Gorda6 x 46$13.50$270
Robusto5½ x 50$15.95$319
Toro6½ x 52$16.95$339
606 x 60$17.95$359

What to Expect

The Sapphire debuts at the PCA Trade Show in New Orleans the week of April 18. Rocky Patel will begin shipping to retailers immediately following the show, so availability should hit shelves by late April or early May.

The gem-inspired packaging — boxes designed to resemble a cut sapphire — makes this a strong shelf presence as well as a strong smoke.
