The story behind Alma del Cielo begins decades ago on a modest but magical mountain farm in Estelí, Nicaragua—a place called Finca San Julian. As a child, Melalina Torres, now the wife of Don Nestor Plasencia, spent countless holidays on this picturesque land surrounded by coffee plants, golden grains, and the soulful breeze of the highlands.

Though the land was sold and her memories faded into nostalgia, fate had other plans. Years later, after meeting and marrying Don Nestor, the couple’s journey took many turns. But in the 1990s, when they returned to Nicaragua, Don Nestor secretly repurchased the very same farm and gifted it to Melalina as a powerful gesture of love—an anniversary gift that resurrected the heartbeat of her childhood.

Crafting Cigars at 3,500 Feet Above Sea Level

Finca San Julian now stands as a beacon of resilience, romance, and refined agriculture. Nestled more than 3,500 feet above sea level in Condega, its high-altitude environment gifts the tobacco with distinct advantages: cooler temperatures, intensified sunlight, and mineral-rich soil nurtured by a pristine mountain stream.
