Steve Saka Teases Halligan 2.0 for Tobaccology with Updated Blend and New Vitola
Steve Saka is back at it — and this time, he’s revisiting a fan favorite.
In a recent update shared on Facebook, Saka revealed that The Halligan, an exclusive cigar originally created for Tobaccology, is getting a full 2.0 overhaul — and it sounds like this isn’t just a minor tweak.

A Blend Worth Reworking
Even though the original Halligan release was well received, Saka admitted that after revisiting the cigars over time, he felt there was room to improve.
Instead of simply producing another batch, he went back to the drawing board.
The goal was simple — make the liga “sing a little better” on the palate.
That meant reworking the blend entirely, something Saka joked turned what could have been an easy reorder into “another project.”
Halligan 2.0 is Officially Locked In
After months of tweaking and testing new iterations in Nicaragua, Saka confirmed:
The new blend is done.
Production is scheduled to begin the first week of April, with the goal of hitting a Fall 2026 release, aligning with Tobaccology’s original timeline.
Updated Specs
The new version won’t just be a blend change — there are physical updates as well.
Vitola: 6.25 x 48
Construction: Softer box-pressed (prensado)
The change to a slightly longer, slimmer format combined with a softer press should noticeably impact how the cigar performs and delivers flavor.
The Original is Done
One important note from Saka — once the current inventory is gone, that’s it.
The original Halligan will not be produced again.
So if you’re a fan of the first release, now might be the time to track one down before it disappears.
Final Thoughts
This is classic Saka.
Taking something that already works… and pushing it further.
Halligan 2.0 isn’t just a refresh — it’s a full evolution of the blend, and based on his track record, that’s something worth paying attention to heading into late 2026.
