Cigar City Legacy & FSG Adventure: Two November Days Celebrating Tampa’s Timeless Tobacco Tradition

Tampa’s Heart Beats in Smoke Rings and History

Cigar fans, clear your calendars! Tampa—the cigar capital of the world—is about to light up with not one but two unforgettable cigar events celebrating the heritage, craft, and community that define this city’s soul.

First up, on November 12th, J.C. Newman Cigar Co. is honoring the 140th Anniversary of Ybor City with the release of Cigar City: The Legacy of Tampa’s Founding Industry, a jaw-dropping 201-page fine-art photography book by Zack Wittman.

This isn’t your average coffee-table book—it’s a love letter to Tampa’s cigar roots. Featuring 189 breathtaking photos of the 25 cigar factory buildings still standing, it’s paired with storytelling by Drew Newman, a fourth-generation cigar maker whose family literally built the American cigar tradition.

Picture this: an evening surrounded by cigar lovers, sipping on beer and wine, grazing on a spread, and soaking in stories straight from the legends themselves. Wittman and Newman will take the stage for a fireside chat about the making of this masterpiece—how they captured not just architecture, but the spirit of the cigar industry that shaped a city.

Each ticket includes a copy of the book, your drinks, and that delicious grazing table. Think of it as your all-access pass to Tampa’s living cigar museum.

From Factory to Farm: The Ultimate Tobacco Experience ??

Then, on Friday, November 14th, the adventure continues with The American – Cigar Factory and FSG Farm Tour. This is your chance to go behind the curtain—from seed to smoke.

Kick off the morning at Corona Cigar Company Tampa with coffee and pastries, then hop on the tour bus to J.C. Newman Cigar Co., the last traditional cigar factory in the U.S. You’ll see where heritage and craftsmanship roll together in every leaf.

Afterward, the tour heads to Clermont, Florida, home to the legendary Florida Sun Grown (FSG) Farm—where the wrapper leaf for The American cigar is grown. You’ll enjoy a BBQ lunch, meet the farmers, and learn the ins and outs of growing premium cigar tobacco in the Florida sun.

And because no great day ends without a smoke, the tour wraps up back at Corona Cigar Co., where you’ll enjoy a complimentary cigar and drink.
