Jonathan Drew Sann and Drew Estate Announce J.SANN & SON in Wynwood
Drew Estate has announced a new partnership with its founder, Jonathan Drew Sann, unveiling what may be one of the most ambitious cigar culture projects in recent memory: J.SANN & SON.

Opening in Spring 2026 at 359 NW 28th Street in Miami’s Wynwood Art District, J.SANN & SON will bring together a family cigar factory, proprietary cigar brands, a world-class cigar bar, live music venue, and full kitchen supper club — all housed under one 7,200-square-foot roof.
This is not just a new cigar lounge. It is being positioned as a “generational establishment” and a deeply personal next chapter in the Jonathan Drew story.
A Founder-Forward Evolution
According to Jonathan Drew Sann, the project was inspired by the birth of his son, Jonathan Drew Sann II (JD2), and represents a passing of the torch moment after three decades of building Drew Estate.
“Every iconic brand has an origin story,” Sann said. “Ours is built upon family, loyalty, and purpose. It’s a beautiful founder forward story – as the culmination of thirty years building Drew Estate matures into the generational ritual of the passing of the torch with the birth of my son.”
While the project marks a new chapter, Sann will continue to serve as President & Chief Innovation Officer of Drew Estate, reinforcing that this venture is an extension of his legacy, not a departure from it.
Drew Estate CEO Glenn Wolfson described the partnership as a natural continuation of the long-standing loyalty between the company and its founder, calling it a new chapter in their collective commitment to innovation.

A Family Factory in the Heart of Wynwood
At the core of J.SANN & SON will be a family cigar factory capable of producing 500 handmade cigars per day. The limited output underscores the intimate, hands-on nature of the operation.
Located just four blocks from Sann’s home, the factory will serve as his creative home base and a hub for collaboration with industry partners and friends. Production will remain small by design, reinforcing the exclusivity of the brands that emerge from the facility.
Drew Estate has indicated that J.SANN & SON-manufactured cigars will be distributed on an extremely exclusive basis due to the production cap. They will be available in person at the Wynwood venue and online at jsannandson.com, with broader distribution kept intentionally limited.
A Curated Cigar Experience
Beyond its proprietary brands, J.SANN & SON will feature a carefully curated cigar selection in-store and online. The lineup will consist of global brands, boutique makers, and emerging discoveries — all personally meaningful to Sann.
Rather than aiming to carry everything, the venue will present what he views as a “snapshot” of cigars worthy of celebration in today’s marketplace.
Culinary and Cultural Ambitions
J.SANN & SON is also positioning itself as a destination for food and culture.
The kitchen will be led by Chef Julia Ning, whose career includes roles as Chef de Cuisine at the Michelin-starred Goosefoot in Chicago and at the James Beard award-winning Kong River House in Miami. The goal is to elevate the culinary side of cigar culture well beyond the typical lounge fare.
The venue will also host live music and immersive brand experiences, offering programming designed to celebrate founders’ journeys and foster community. It is intended to be as much a cultural gathering space as a cigar destination.
Full Circle
Sann described the project as a full-circle moment, reminiscent of the early days of Drew Estate in Nicaragua, when he famously slept on the factory floor while building the company from the ground up.

“This is not a goodbye,” he said. “It is a continuation of a beautiful story that began thirty years ago. J.SANN & SON is a cigar culture center unlike anything that exists on the planet.”
With a Spring 2026 opening planned, J.SANN & SON will add a new dimension to Miami’s cigar landscape — blending manufacturing, retail, hospitality, and culture under one roof in one of the country’s most vibrant neighborhoods.
