The Nestor Miranda Private Reserve Lancero Is Now Headed to Retail Shelves

Miami Cigar & Co. is now shipping the Nestor Miranda Private Reserve Lancero to premium cigar retailers across the country, marking the wider release of one of the company’s most anticipated 2026 reintroductions.

The cigar was reintroduced earlier this year at the 2026 Premium Cigar Association Trade Show in New Orleans, where it drew strong attention from retailers and industry observers. Now, the release is making its way into stores nationwide, giving smokers another opportunity to experience a vitola long associated with precision, elegance, and a more focused expression of a blend.

For many seasoned cigar smokers, the lancero occupies a special place. Its slimmer ring gauge and longer format often place more emphasis on wrapper character, combustion balance, and overall construction. That makes it a format that tends to appeal to smokers who value refinement over brute strength, and it also explains why the return of the Nestor Miranda Private Reserve Lancero is likely to resonate with longtime fans of the line.

This release uses a Dominican Corojo wrapper over a Nicaraguan Criollo ’98 binder with a filler blend made up of Dominican, Nicaraguan, and Brazilian tobaccos. Production takes place at La Aurora in the Dominican Republic, a factory with deep roots and long-standing credibility in premium cigar manufacturing.

Miami Cigar & Co. says the cigar remains true to the original idea behind the Private Reserve concept: selective, personal, and rooted in Nestor Miranda’s own preferences. That philosophy is also reflected in the limited nature of the release, with just 500 boxes produced.

“The lancero has always been my favorite, it’s an elegant cigar, simple as that,” said Nestor Miranda. “At the end of the day, I smoke what I enjoy, and this is exactly that.”

The company is also marking the cigar’s arrival with a private, invitation-only event featuring Nestor Miranda at Sabor Havana Cigars & Cocktail Lounge in Doral, Florida, in conjunction with Long Ashes Cigar Club.

Visually, the release stands apart from much of the market. The packaging combines a clean white presentation with deep blue accents and a tile-inspired motif that subtly nods to Cuban heritage while also feeling unmistakably Miami. It is a restrained but distinctive look, and one that helps reinforce the company’s message that the cigar is both rooted in tradition and tied to the personality of its namesake.

The Nestor Miranda Private Reserve Lancero is packaged in boxes of 10 cigars and carries an MSRP of $18 per cigar, or $180 per box.
