Tatuaje Previews “Old Man and the C Monster” Limited Release at PCA 2026

Tatuaje Cigars is offering an early look at its upcoming Old Man and the C Monster release at PCA 2026 in New Orleans. The project blends elements of the brand’s long-running “Old Man and the C” concept with its evolving Monster Series, continuing Tatuaje’s focus on creative, limited-production formats.

Behind the Roll

The “Old Man and the C” concept dates back to 2011, originally featuring El Triunfador cigars in both culebra and lancero formats presented in coffin-style packaging. Over the years, the concept has been revisited across multiple blends, including Black Label and Fausto versions.

This latest iteration ties directly into the Monster Series, specifically the Creature blend, which first appeared in the 2021 Monster Mash sampler and returned in 2024’s Monster Smash release. Until now, the blend has largely been limited to sampler appearances, with broader format expansions rolling out in 2026.

Blend Details

Old Man and the C Monster utilizes the Creature blend, maintaining its intentionally undisclosed profile beyond its core structure:

  • Wrapper: Nicaragua
  • Binder: Nicaragua
  • Filler: Nicaragua

As with other Monster Series releases, Tatuaje has kept detailed blend components private, reinforcing the project’s limited and experimental nature.

Sizes / Pricing / Production

  • Primary Vitola: 7 x 44 (Lonsdale format)
  • Additional Format: Culebra (included in packaging)
  • Packaging: Cabinets containing 6 coffin-style boxes
  • Production: Limited to 1,300 cabinets

Pricing has not yet been disclosed.

Release Info

Old Man and the C Monster is currently being previewed at PCA 2026 (Booth #2931), with allocation expected later this year.

As with other Tatuaje limited releases, distribution will be restricted to qualifying retailers through sales representatives.

Why It Matters

This release continues Tatuaje’s strategy of blending legacy concepts with newer brand narratives.

  • It revives the Old Man and the C format, which has developed a niche following over the years
  • It expands the availability of the Creature blend beyond sampler formats
  • It reinforces Tatuaje’s emphasis on collector-driven, limited packaging formats

For retailers, this is a highly allocated, relationship-based product that appeals to dedicated Tatuaje and Monster Series collectors.

More broadly, it highlights how brands are continuing to build long-term storytelling through recurring concepts, rather than one-off releases.
