Pospiech Introduces “Smoke This Trust Me” — A Retail-Focused Value Line

Pospiech Cigars is introducing a new line aimed squarely at brick-and-mortar retail with the launch of Smoke This Trust Me, a value-driven premium cigar program debuting at PCA 2026. Built around simplicity, pricing, and in-store exclusivity, the line is designed to help retailers compete more directly with online and catalog sales.

Background / Context

As pricing pressure and online competition continue to impact cigar shops, brands have increasingly looked for ways to support in-store sales. Smoke This Trust Me represents a more direct approach—creating a product specifically structured around point-of-sale value and immediate purchase incentives.

Rather than focusing on complex branding or detailed blend breakdowns, the concept leans into straightforward messaging and accessibility.

Blend Details

The line is produced in Estelí, Nicaragua, using long-filler tobacco. While specific blend components and factory details remain undisclosed, the lineup is built around three familiar profiles:

  • Connecticut: Mild-to-medium, smooth and approachable
  • Habano: Spicy with added depth and body
  • Maduro: Fuller-bodied with natural sweetness

Each blend is designed to cover a broad range of smoker preferences without overcomplicating the offering.

Sizes / Pricing / Production

Available in all three blends:

  • Robusto: 5 x 50
  • Toro: 6 x 52
  • Gordo: 6 x 60
  • MSRP: $8.00 per cigar
  • Packaging: Bundle format only

The cigars are positioned as a value-tier product, but still within the premium long-filler category.

Release Info

Smoke This Trust Me is currently being showcased at PCA 2026 (Booth #4841), with availability focused on brick-and-mortar retailers only.

The line will be sold exclusively in-store, reinforcing its retail-first strategy.

Built for Brick-and-Mortar

The defining feature of this release is its “Buy 3 Get 1 Free” bundle program, displayed directly on the packaging.

According to co-founder Gregg Szczepankiewicz, the goal is to give retailers a competitive edge:

“A local shop should be able to offer real value to a walk-in customer… instead of that customer going home to order online.”

The program is structured to:

  • Encourage immediate purchases
  • Provide clear, visible value at the counter
  • Maintain retailer margins without discounting

Why It Matters

This release is less about blend innovation and more about retail strategy.

Smoke This Trust Me highlights a growing issue in the cigar industry—the gap between in-store pricing and online discounting. By embedding the deal directly into the product, Pospiech is attempting to close that gap without forcing retailers into margin cuts.

For retailers, this could serve as:

  • A reliable “daily driver” option
  • A strong impulse-buy product
  • A tool to keep customers purchasing in-store

For the industry, it’s a sign that packaging, pricing structure, and sales strategy are becoming just as important as the cigar itself.
