Davidoff Expands Black Band Collection with the New Puro Dominicano

Davidoff is adding a major new chapter to its Black Band Collection.

For the first time in a decade, the company has introduced a new line within the series with the debut of the Davidoff Puro Dominicano, a cigar built entirely from Dominican tobaccos and designed to showcase the depth and diversity of the country’s terroir.

The release joins Davidoff’s existing Black Band lineup — Escurio, Nicaragua, and Yamasá — and represents a bold exploration of what Dominican tobacco can deliver when pushed toward fuller-bodied territory.

A Dominican Puro Years in the Making

The Davidoff Puro Dominicano is crafted exclusively with well-aged tobaccos grown across six different Dominican terroirs, with the combined age of the tobaccos totaling 32 years.

According to Davidoff’s master blenders, the goal was to create a cigar that maintains the refinement expected from the brand while delivering the intensity typically associated with black-banded Davidoff cigars.

“This line reflects our commitment to innovation within our core competencies and our continued pursuit of excellence in craftsmanship,” said Javier González, SVP Head Global Marketing & Innovation at Oettinger Davidoff.

Vitolas in the Davidoff Puro Dominicano Line

The new line will launch in three formats, each designed to highlight different aspects of the blend.

Short Robusto
52 x 4 1/2

Corona Larga
44 x 5 7/8

Perfecto
50 x 5 1/2

One of the most interesting formats in the release is the Corona Larga, which carries a 44-ring gauge meant to symbolize the year 1844, when the Dominican Republic gained independence.

The Perfecto is also notable, as it requires a high level of craftsmanship due to its tapered head and foot, a shape that accentuates the wrapper and binder influence during the smoking experience.

Presentation and Packaging

The Davidoff Puro Dominicano will be presented in a black wooden cabinet box of 12 cigars featuring a distinctive yellow accent inspired by Dominican amber.

The cigars will also be available in packs of five.

In a move toward more sustainable packaging, Davidoff has replaced the traditional PET outer packaging with a more environmentally friendly carton alternative.

Release Date

The Davidoff Puro Dominicano is scheduled to launch April 23, 2026 at select Davidoff appointed merchants and flagship stores worldwide.

Retailers attending the Premium Cigar Association Trade Show in New Orleans (April 17–20, 2026) will get an early preview of the new line.

For fans of Davidoff’s Black Band series, this new Dominican puro is shaping up to be one of the most interesting releases of the year.
